After the heavy rain, Wednesday evenings FA Youth Cup Preliminary Round was played on a fine looking surface. Attacking from the start, Hitchin's lads almost scored in the first minute, and went ahead after a bad defensive error after about seven minutes. From then until just before the half-hour Hitchin were playing well. Until a horrendous error in the Hitchin defence gifted MKI an equaliser. This goal changed the game, and MKI began to punish every error by our lads. I'll leave it at that!

It certainly didn't have the "magic of the cup" of the previous evening!
