Re: Hitchin vs Potters Bar
It was the best home performance for a while, started off really well, played some delightful football and the goal was straight out of The Premiership.Am not getting too carried away though,Potters Bar had a man sent off and they gave us space to engage in our passing game, Biggleswade will not give us that luxury on Saturday. Then of course in the second half, instead of putting the game to bed, we went into 25mins of 'Coaching Mode' if they had scored during that time the game could have had a different outcome.Pleased we got through, and rewarded with a home tie against St Albans. Biggleswade will give a better test to see just how far the Team has come.

What was the red card for? Commentary team implied possibly a stamp?...... Having worked from the broadcast area I fully appreciate it's not the best viewing point especially the far end.
Re: Hitchin vs Potters Bar
Darren I was informed by someone closer to the incident that it was for “kicking” our player , it was seen by the Lino who advised the referee. Whether that’s fact or not I can’t confirm.

Thanks Stuart. Completely stupid in this day and age to kick out. See it much less now but always one hot head.

Interesting to see our previous and next cup opponents meet in the league on Monday night - Potters Bar v St Albans
Re: Hitchin vs Potters Bar
In my opinion, ref dealt with the incident brilliantly. I think he did see some of the incident, but having diffused the initial pushing and shoving, he then consulted his assistant for his account of the event. That seemed to be to verify what he had seen. He took the player aside before issuing the red card rather than wave it at him from a distance when the player was in a pack of players. (He was the Potters Bar Captain as well!).
From what I saw, the player knelt down on George Morrell's face and chest with his full weight when getting up - then putting his foot where he didn't need to, stepping on George when he could have stepped on the ground.
For me the right decision - and I would have said same if it had been a Hitchin player.
Behaviour breeds behaviour. And establishes a culture.
