Grays VS HTFC

Post by DarrenW »

Half time and final score will be posted here when available. KO Currently delayed due to an issue with one of the goals.

Brilliant result.

Well done to the players, management and the fans who went to the game tonight.

Bet the atmosphere on the coach will be electric coming back.

Lot's of positives on paper it would appear. Grays have scored 7 in 2 league games and the fact we largely contained them and kept a clean sheet last night.

Also the old one and our record against Isthmian clubs is not great since joining the Southern League another positive.

Hopefully the sort of result that will kick start our season.

Thanks Darren for putting the result on here last night. Unfortunately we were short of communication outlets last night, we had nobody to do the Social Media and HTFC Radio were on holiday/at a festival.

Well we got the job done, great goal by Mbunya, absolutely perfectly judged lob. Defensively we were really solid in the second half, and did not look in any trouble. We need to now keep digging out results - for me I'm finding it tough because I'm in Man City fan mode rather than my comfort zone Fulham and usual Hitchin fan mode. It means that I am always thinking....could/should have been more comfortable than it was. Having come flying out the blocks and got the early goal, I expected us to crack on rather than make a game of it. I would have hoped to have seen one or two more flashes during the game of what we saw in the first ten minutes.

That said, much happier with the fact that we contested more physically, and most important of all....WE GOT THE RESULT. And in 90 minutes. Well done lads.

Although I would have liked a more attractive tie next round, I'd actually rather us face a Step 3 club than a Step 5 club. Because we will match their standard. I'm actually quite optimistic. Potters Bar here we come....hope we can get some great support.

I was taking the updates from social media no-one texting me. Simply putting what I was seeing on social media. So must have been someone doing the updates although more limited than usual.

Credit due to whoever did the updates.
