Both teams needed the points for differing reasons. Halesowen were never going to let us play, like in our previous four matches, and would look to take advantage of any mistakes. This turned out to be the scenario as Hitchin gave away two goals in quick sucession in the second half. The first half had been a scrappy affair but once the ball was on the ground it was Hitchin that played the better football but neither team worried the keeper. Apart from the give away goals the rest of the game was very much like the first half although we got a late goal.
